Accessibility

What we have built in, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something blocks you.

Our commitment

A business owner looking for funding should be able to use this site whatever their sight, hearing, mobility or situation. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA, and we treat anything that falls short of that as a fault to fix rather than a preference to debate.

02

What is built in

These are deliberate decisions in how the site is built, not claims from a template.

  • The funding check works entirely from a keyboard. Every option, dropdown, field and button can be reached by tabbing, and the focused element shows a visible gold outline
  • Every answer is a real button and every field has a real label, so a screen reader announces what it is rather than reading an unlabelled box
  • Body text is set at 16 pixels or larger with generous line spacing, and colours were chosen against the contrast floor rather than by eye
  • Nothing important is carried by colour alone. Selected answers change their border and background, not just their tint
  • The progress indicator announces itself politely to assistive technology rather than interrupting
  • Page structure uses real headings in order, so a screen reader can jump between sections
  • If your system asks for reduced motion, the few remaining transitions shorten or stop

Where we know we fall short

Being specific here is more useful than claiming to be perfect.

The quiz advances automatically when you tap an answer. That is fast for most people and can be disorienting if you rely on a screen reader, because the question changes under you. We are looking at an explicit continue step as an option.

We have not yet completed a full audit with an external tester who uses assistive technology daily. Automated checking catches a fraction of real problems, and we would rather say so than imply a clean bill of health.

04

Tell us and we will fix it

If any part of this site stops you doing what you came to do, email hello@cashmansam.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you use if you know it. We aim to reply within three business days.

If something blocks you from completing the funding check, say so and we will take your application by email instead. You should not lose access to funding because a web page was built badly.

05

Third party content

Parts of the experience sit outside our control, including the funding partners you are introduced to and the systems they use. We cannot guarantee their accessibility, but tell us if one of them creates a barrier and we will raise it with them.

Something in your way?

Email us with the page and what you were trying to do. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will take your funding application by email so you are not held up waiting for us.
