What we collect, who sees it, and what we will never do with it.

Who we are

Cashman Sam is a funding introduction service operated by Quantum Leap Marketing, the registered business name of Rodrigo Paez, sole proprietor, NEQ 2272463334, Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. We are not a bank, a lender or a broker of record. We introduce business owners to third party funding partners, who make their own credit decisions.

02

What we collect

Everything we hold about you comes from the funding check you fill in, plus a small amount your browser sends automatically.

  • About your business: the funding product you want, the amount, what it is for, how long you have traded, your state, your industry, your average monthly deposits, whether you are repaying an existing advance, and your own estimate of your personal credit band
  • About you: your name, your business name, your email address and your mobile number
  • Automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the advertising parameters in the link you arrived on
  • A recording of your visit to the funding check itself, made by TrustedForm so that we can prove you agreed to be contacted
  • What we showed you: the indicative funding range displayed to you before you submitted
03

Why we collect it

To match your application to funding partners who lend to businesses like yours, to contact you about that application, to keep the records we are obliged to keep, and to measure which advertising brings business owners to the site. We do not use your information to make an automated decision that has a legal effect on you. Funding decisions are made by the funding partner.

04

Who we share it with

We pass your application to the funding partner we match you to. That is the point of the service. We introduce one matched partner per application and we do not resell your details as a shared lead to multiple buyers.

  • Funding partners, so they can make you an offer
  • Service providers who run the site, our CRM, our email and our phone systems
  • Validation services that confirm a phone number or email address is real
  • ActiveProspect, which records your visit to the funding check and issues the certificate proving you agreed to be contacted
  • Advertising platforms such as Meta: we send them a scrambled, one-way version of your email and phone number, never the plain text, so we can tell which ad brought in a completed application and avoid counting the same application twice
  • Anyone we are legally required to disclose to
05

This counts as a sale or share under California law

We are paid by funding partners when a deal completes. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, passing your information to a funding partner in exchange for that payment is treated as a sale or sharing of personal information. We would rather tell you that plainly than bury it. You can opt out at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link, or by emailing us.

06

Calls and text messages

When you submit the funding check you tick a box agreeing that Cashman Sam and its funding partners may contact you at the number and email address you provide, including by automated dialling and text message, even if that number is on a do-not-call list. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or email us and we will remove you.

07

How long we keep it

We keep applications and the consent record for as long as we need them to run the business and to show, if we are ever challenged, that you agreed to be contacted. In practice that is five years from your last contact with us, after which we delete or anonymise the record. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

08

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and ask us to stop selling or sharing it. Email hello@cashmansam.com and we will act within the period the applicable law allows.

  • California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and other US states with privacy laws: the rights to know, to delete, to correct, to opt out of sale or sharing, and not to be treated differently for exercising them
  • Canada, under PIPEDA: the right to access the personal information we hold and to challenge its accuracy
  • We will not make you create an account to exercise a right, and we will not charge you for it
09

Cookies and advertising measurement

We use cookies to run the site and to understand which advertising brings business owners here. The notice on your first visit explains this and links back to this page. You can clear or block cookies in your browser and the funding check will still work.

Meta is the advertising platform we use. Its pixel runs in your browser and records that you viewed a page and that you completed the funding check. Some of the same information is also sent to Meta straight from our servers through its Conversions API, which means blocking cookies in your browser does not stop all of it.

What reaches Meta is listed below. The scrambled version of your email and mobile number is one-way: it cannot be turned back into your email address or your number. We send it so that we can tell which advertisement produced a real application, and so the same application is not counted twice.

  • The advertising click identifier contained in the link you arrived on, such as a Facebook click ID
  • Your IP address, browser type and the pages you viewed
  • A scrambled, one-way version of your email address and mobile number, once you submit the funding check
  • The fact that a funding check was completed, and when
10

Session recording and proof of consent

Because we pass your details to a funding partner who will telephone you, we have to be able to show that you agreed to that. An independent company, ActiveProspect, records your visit to the funding check using its TrustedForm service in order to create that evidence.

The recording covers what was shown on the page, what you clicked and typed into the funding check, and how long each step took. It does not follow you to other websites, and it never captures card or bank details because we do not ask for any. ActiveProspect stores the recording and issues a certificate, which we pass to the funding partner we match you to as proof of your consent.

If you would rather not be recorded, do not submit the funding check. If you have already submitted one and want the recording removed, email us and we will ask ActiveProspect to delete it.

11

Security

Applications are sent over an encrypted connection and held in access-controlled systems. No system is perfect. If a breach affects your information we will tell you promptly.

12

Not consumer credit, and not for children

Cashman Sam is for business funding only. It is not consumer credit, it is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

13

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date at the top of it. If the change is significant we will say so on the site rather than leave you to find it.

14
